why dont they make wakeboard boats out of aluminum instead of fiberglass?

Fiberglass is the strongest for the $$. Aluminum, would have to be welded , very expensive because the AL would need to be heavy gauge. Riveted aluminum would be out of the question…The rivets would move , oval out & leak. Wake boats carry water ballast correct..also a factor.

if in a crash aluminum wouldn’t stand a chance against fiber glass.
fiber glass just seems to be better quality than aluminum
and fiber glass helps your boat be faster.

    1. Unlike aluminum, fiberglass can be molded into any shape, and the shape of the hull contributes greatly to the quality of the wake.
    2. Aluminum boats are too lightweight to make a good wake
    3. Nobody puts an inboard motor in an aluminum boat, and the outboard would interfere with the tow ropes, and block the wakeboarder’s view of the bikini babes on the back deck.
    4. There’s just no coolness factor.
