Well Its A Hurricane Deck Boat, it has a ski pole, thats about 3 feet off the back. and im pretty good but cant get enough air to do anything really good. Is it me or the boat?
The amount of wake a boat produces is based on its length, width, weight, and draft in the water. I’m not sure what boat you have, but relatively any boat can produce a wake that is a least a little jump-able.
Are you trying to jump or "jump"?
When you wakeboard and your trying to get air, you don’t actually jump when you hit the wake.
To jump move to the outside, toe or heel, whichever you prefer. Carve in hard towards the wake, don’t let up. As you hit the wake, maintain your edge and stand-up hard, not jump. If done correctly, you will pop right off the water.
From there you just need to practice. If your still having trouble and you have a good wakeboard, consider buying some videos and/or look into a training session somewhere to improve your technique.
One other thing to mention, you need a shorter rope than if you would ski unless your boat wake is large. Back at 75-85 there isn’t as much wake especially on a boat that isn’t tailored to produce wake there.
You want to be around 65 feet. Not to mention this will also bring the distance you have to clear, smaller.
