I’ve experienced so many different boats, that I have come up with clearcut opinions about what I like and don’t like for different reasons.
For a good price, and getting the most for what you pay, go with a centurion avalanche, a year or 2 old should be ideal. My experience is that the 24 footers are nice… but for the wake, we really get a 22 ft down in the water, and have better wakes on the centurion, than any other boat out there, no matter what it is.
Don’t necessarily stick to what is close to you and available, look around a bit further, and you can usually get the best deal on the best boat when you are informed, and know what is available. Besides, driving to get a boat is no worse than making that yearly trip to that far away lake that you like so much, is it?

I would suggest getting either mastercraft. You can find them on eBay, Craigslist or nadaguides.com which is the blue book for boats.
