I really like wakeboard boats like mastercrafts and malibu but i don’t think they would be big enough i just need to know what size would be best for lake Michigan
I have boated on and across the Great Lakes for too many years… and I can tell you without doubt… that if you plan to "enjoy" Lake Michigan for all its worth… you need a heavy V shaped hull with a high freeboard.
As for the particular kind of vessel that offers the above – ie: cruiser, cuddy or whatever… take your preference… there are a multitude of choices.
My suggestion would be to visit a local Marina on Lake Michigan and get a good "look-see" at the vessels there… probably what will be more important, are the vessels that "are not there"… that for sure, will tell you something.
Also, you should just visit the Marinas and ask around…
Do you want a vessel you can trailer? Or one so large you can not trailer?
And remember… you are at the gateway to the world on Lake Michigan… you can take your vessel to Chicago and down the Illinois, Ohio, Mississippi, Tenn-Tom all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, around Florida, up the InterCoastal to the Hudson, Erie Canal, Ontario, Trent-Severn, and Home again without ever making a "U" turn…
So… just thought I would mention that if you are thinking of buying a boat… You might just want to consider all your possibilities…
Happy & Safe Boating!
Here… check out your boating possibilities from Lake Michigan… Be sure and take a look at the "America’s Great Loop" page on this site. Enjoy!
